The Green Bay Packers will retire Brett Favre's No. 4 during their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings this September, according to ESPN.com.
"The season-opening game is always an exciting event, and now we're very pleased to add the retirement of Brett's No. 4 to that evening," team CEO Mark Murphy said. "It will make for an electric atmosphere at Lambeau Field, as well as a great opportunity for our fans around the country to share in it while watching the game on the national broadcast."

Jags' Del Rio Signs Extension
Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio has signed a contract extension, a reward for winning his first playoff game, according to an Associated Press report.
Del Rio?s length of contract and salary were not disclosed by the team Thursday, but the salary was expected to be a significant jump from the original five-year, $6.5M contract he signed in 2003.
